It all depends on the painting i want to do. I can find it stressful as an artist to not know what size of canvas to use so I just think about what i want to do and how big I want it then I get that size.
usually the dimention of my medium sized paintings are in between 12 inch / 12 inch to 30 inch / 24 inch
